AO is providing architectural design services and developing the architectural design guidelines for The Shoppes at Fountera, a new mixed-use town center envisioned as the heart of a larger shopping and entertainment district in Kansas City, Missouri. Phase I encompasses approximately 50.75 acres and 375,000 square feet of retail, including 20 retail buildings and a fuel station anchored by a large-format grocer.
Designed to establish a distinct neighborhood identity, The Shoppes at Fountera brings together retail, dining, entertainment, and public spaces within a dynamic, pedestrian-oriented environment. A vibrant main street character, engaging storefronts, thoughtful connections, and cohesive architectural guidelines create a strong sense of place while allowing individual buildings and tenants to express their own identity. Together, these elements establish a walkable, experience-driven destination designed to serve residents, visitors, and the surrounding community.
