The demand for housing and programs that serve low-income families is immense, however, the need for high-quality affordable housing for disadvantaged groups is even greater. To help ease this burden, this vibrant 80-unit affordable housing community for veterans, disabled residents, and very low-income families, was forged through non-profit community partnerships and established in one of Orange County’s most prosperous neighborhoods. Unique for low-income developments, the community boasts a robust resident amenity program which includes a resort-style pool, enclosed cabana,  tot-lot, fitness center, clubhouse, computer lab, and offices for support services and programs. Underscoring the need for such low-income housing developments for underserved populations, over 6,800 families applied for the projects 80 available apartment homes. Through community partnerships and smart design, this project is a shining example of inclusive affordable development, demonstrating that quality low-income housing can be successfully integrated into suburban communities for the benefit of the entire region.
