AO partnered with LA Fitness to deliver a portfolio of state-of-the-art fitness centers throughout California, transforming former big-box retail spaces into dynamic wellness destinations ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 square feet. Through adaptive reuse and strategic repositioning, the program revitalized underutilized commercial properties while introducing a modern architectural identity tailored to LA Fitness’s brand and operational needs.
Each facility features a comprehensive mix of fitness, recreation, and wellness amenities, including indoor pools, basketball and racquetball courts, group fitness studios, cardio and strength training areas, locker rooms, and member gathering spaces. Thoughtful space planning, infrastructure upgrades, and coordinated design solutions ensured a consistent member experience while maximizing the potential of each existing building.
