This 2.4-acre mental health campus offers a progressive, community-based model for delivering integrated services in a single, welcoming environment. Developed by the Orange County Health Care Agency, the site replaces a long-abandoned hospital with five purpose-built facilities, including a 15-bed Crisis Residential Program offering 24/7 short-term care, a consumer-led Wellness and Peer Support Center, and an Education and Training Center supporting career development in mental health. The campus also includes a staff center, maintenance building, and outdoor amenities such as gardens, recreation space, and an amphitheater. Designed in collaboration with care providers and users, the campus supports individuals through every stage of recovery, from crisis to wellness, while consolidating services for operational efficiency. Prioritizing durability, accessibility, and dignity, the development sets a strong precedent for how mental health care can be reimagined at the county level.
