A proposed 1.1-million-square-foot commercial development slated for the site of the shuttered Fry's Electronics store in Warner Center has cleared a key obstacle. At its meeting on October 26, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission voted to reject two appeals which sought to block the construction of District at Warner Center, a mixed-use complex proposed by Kaplan Companies.

Locals Boyer Company have submitted design review plans for a two-building, 348-unit project between Main and West Temple on the south side of 800 South. Just to west is The Charli, the adaptive reuse and new construction building by CW Urban.

Dana Point, Calif., is a coastal city in Orange County best known for its harbor. Lately, the city’s downtown area has become more appealing to visitors and residents alike, thanks in part to redevelopment that has created more live-work-play options. Prado West is one such project. This mixed-use development on 2.3 acres consists of three buildings that encompass 32,500 sf of retail and restaurant space, 109 apartments with 50 floor plans, and a 24-hour fitness center.

A short walk from LA Historic Park in Chinatown, a food processing facility has made way for the neighborhood's next housing and commercial development. The property, located at 1457 N. Main Street, was recently approved for the construction of a six-story structure which would contain 376 studio and one-bedroom apartments on its upper floors and 6,448 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.

The tarp is gone at 2721 Wilshire Boulevard, revealing the white exterior new affordable housing complex across the street from Lafayette Park in Westlake. The project from Los Angeles Housing Partnership and Richman Group, which replaced a surface parking lot adjacent to the historic Bryson building, consists of a new six-story edifice which will feature 64 apartments.

As the third and final phase of mixed-use Park & Paseo, Atlas is part of a transformed industrial site on 18 acres in California’s central Orange County. Neighboring the historic Marine Air Corps Station, the five-story wrap building’s unique massing and angled glass curtain walls were inspired by iconic blimp hangars that still stand nearby.

The homebuilder’s apartment division secured $65 million in construction financing from Banc of California for Henri, a 313-unit collaboration with EJF Capital in Phoenix, Multi-Housing News reported. The development was first unveiled in October 2022, and ground was broken on the site in July.
