The Promenade at Downey

This large themed Entertainment Center with a Cinema, Health Club, Shopping and Dining incorporates historical landmarks from the time when NASA’s Space Program occupied the site. For five decades between 1936 and 1986 Downey was a cutting edge hot spot of aerospace innovation and production. Downey Promenade highlights Downey’s contributions to space exploration and movie making with The History Walk. The processional walk in the entertainment court features hardscaped decorative medallion markers and educational stations memorializing individuals missions from the Apollo and space shuttle eras. The center merges retail, dining and entertainment with a one-of-a-kind walk through history.
